MaiPDF Secure

Two practical paths for secure PDF sharing

MaiPDF helps people share PDFs with the right level of control. Use Online Cloud Sharing when readers need a fast browser link or QR code. Use App DRM when a document needs a protected reader, device rules, revocation, and stronger screenshot-aware controls.

Online Cloud Sharing

The fast path for PDF links, QR codes, browser reading, expiry, view limits, dynamic watermarks, access records, and online file replacement.

  • Best for quick sharing and no-install readers
  • Works well for proposals, portfolios, reports, and class handouts
  • Controls the online link, not a local protected file

App DRM / .maipdf

The stronger path for valuable documents that should open inside the MaiPDF Secure App instead of an ordinary browser or generic PDF reader.

  • Protected .maipdf files and license checks
  • Device binding, recipient control, expiry, and revocation
  • Stronger screen-capture controls where the platform supports them

Direction

MaiPDF is moving toward a clearer Secure App identity

Older MaiPDF pages and diagrams sometimes used purple-blue gradients, rounded SaaS cards, many small buttons, red arrows, and legacy flowcharts. That style no longer represents the main product direction. New pages should feel closer to a professional DRM product: white and light-gray surfaces, deep blue emphasis, green success states, and clear security status messaging.

Honest browser limits

Browser links can add useful controls, but they cannot fully control the operating system or guarantee screenshot blocking.

Stronger app control

App DRM changes the risk model by requiring the protected file to open through the MaiPDF Secure App and a valid license.

Traceable sharing

Watermarks, access records, open limits, and expiry remain important because no software can stop every possible copy method.

Legacy content

Older HTML / Offline DRM material is now secondary

MaiPDF may still keep older HTML-package or Offline DRM references for existing users and historical documentation. They should not be the main message for new readers. The current recommendation is simple: Online Cloud Sharing for fast browser delivery, App DRM / .maipdf for stronger protected-reader workflows.

Practical document control

MaiPDF has been developed as a practical tool for controlled PDF distribution: links, QR codes, watermarks, reading records, access limits, and stronger protected-file workflows when the document is sensitive.
